Motorcycle Races

Will, his friend Justin and I volunteered at the Larry H Miller Motorsport Park for the AMA and Superbike races. For you that don't speak man that means the USA and World motorcycle races. They only make one stop in the US and it was to Utah. Will and Justin volunteered to be the guys to run out by the track when a racer crashes to help them either get where it's safe or get back out in the race. I was in the same area as them doing the flags for the Superbike races. The flags are for the racer to relay messages about the track being clear or about an accident up ahead, ect... We looked kinda cool with microphones to communicate with the head people to let them know what was going on in our area of the track. It was a weekend full of great and horrible things. The first day it was freezing! We spend the day on the race track in the rain and cold. It was made worse because I was tired also. We had woken up at like 4:30 in the morning to get there in time. I'm not the type to fall asleep anywhere but at home, not even on a plane or anything. On the side of the track when the AMA races where going on I was on the side of the track falling asleep. I fell asleep one for about 5 minutes. That is crazy because the motorcycles are so loud and it was so cold and uncomfortable. That night we stayed in the parkway and just camped out. We went to Walmart and bought a heater so it wouldn't be that bad. Well it rained during the night and I woke up at 3:00 AM wet on half my body. In my sleepy state I tried to go back to sleep even though I was wet but Then when my pillow was all wet on the bottom side I couldn't do it anymore. Then I discovered that my clothes for the next day were all wet. I woke Will up and he tried to dry them by the heater. When it was clear that that wasn't working he took them to this family bathroom that was like 100 degrees. He ment to come back but he fell asleep sitting there drying my stuff while I froze in the tent. The next morning he came back with my dry clothes so i forgave him for ditching me. Sadly my shoes that were with me were wet so that sucked. That second day at the races was so much better. Shortly after the races started it warmed up a bit so it was more enjoyable. It was a really cool experience being evolved with something so big. We had every meal catered, got a lot of free stuff, met a racer, had the best seats to watch the races and made some great memories. Were going to try to do this again if they come back next year.

Easter

Will and I are kids at heart! I love holidays and he puts up with me. We decorated eggs with my sister Cynthia and her kids. It was very fun and they turned out very colorful. My family celebrates the Easter bunny part on Easter on Saturday and the religious part on Sunday so you can still have fun but also remember what Easter is all about. On that Saturday Will and I hid each others eggs than had fun as the other person searched for them. Mine were hid in the living room and Will's were in our bedroom. We also put together a Easter basket for each other. Will gave me a unicorn mini pillow pet in my basket. Later that day we went to my sister Andrea's house where she put on a very fun Easter egg hunt for my nieces and nephews. She does it every year and it's so fun. There are always eggs all over her yard. It's fun for the older and the younger kids. On Sunday we had a great relaxing day. In the evening we had dinner with one of my sisters and enjoyed just being together.

Will's 28th Birthday

Wow, i'm married to an old man. Just kidding but it is weird every year as we get older. Will is more mature than me but still I don't feel like either of us should be that old. I'm in denial. It was a fantastic birthday that I set up for him if I do say so myself. We mad a delicious home made breakfast- yes, I can cook. Then we went to the Miller Motor Sportsway in Grantville. We did the carting. Neither of us had gone carting before and it was way fun! MMS is the place so go for carting. There cars are faster than anywhere else in Utah. We went up to 50 or 60 MPH. After we drove around that area and looked around for fun. Will likes that area and I told him that the only way I would live out there was if we could live in this one neighborhood that's lined up along a pond. It was beautiful! After looking around we went to eat at McGraffs Fish house. I'm not a big seafood person but Will loves it so he took advantage of it being his birthday dinner. After we walked over to the Crispy Kreme donut shop where they make the donuts fresh to send them everywhere. We could see how they were made and that was kinda cool. We went a ordered two glazed donuts and the guys was like "why don't you buy one and i'll give you two samples for free". Cool huh. They were the gooyest donuts that I have ever had. Very sweet but very good. After we were stuffed so we waiting till the next day to do his Birthday cake. We did a lemon cake and it turned out great! I was a Birthday full of a lot of fun times!

Valentine's Day

For Valentines Day this year we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory. We haven't been there since we were dating so it was nice to go back. We were seated in a more private area which was nice. Because of the way the table was set up we ended up sitting side by side on the little couch that had in front of the table. It was really cozy. My two favorite types of food are Mexican and Italian so I love there food. When we got home we exchanged gifts. It was a very romantic Valentines Day and we had a great day celebrating it together!

Long Time No See

I realized today that I hadn't written anything in 2011 at all. So, this is my quick catch up on what we've been up to. I last wrote in July so her is the rest of 2010...
August 14th was my 26th Birthday. I know, I'm old. I was a little panicked about being on the top half of 25. I kept thinking about being on my way to 30 and that seems weird. It was a great birthday. Will pampered me. He gave me a gift certificate to a day spa. I got a massage, pedicure and a facial. I had never gotten a facial before but I liked it- a lot. In fact I think that was my favorite part. It was a great birthday! I got to celebrate it over a space of time with both family and friends.
September 22nd was Will and mines 3rd Anniversary. We went with our tradition and had our pictures taken on Main St in Bountiful by out friend Jessica Brandt. It's always so fun and they turned out great. On the actual day of our Anniversary Will had school so we didn't get to celebrate till that evening. When he came home I had a romantic dinner waiting and we exchanged gifts. I gave him a church shirt and tie plus a Chuck Norris DVD. He gave me a mini shopping spree- I bought a new outfit.
October/November- I went to Arizona for my sister Patricia's wedding. I went down there a little early so I was there for Halloween. I was there last year for Halloween and have had the privilege of helping play the voice of the Great Pumpkin (their interactive giant pumpkin). It's so fun. I got to run a race. I was just going to do a 1K with my 5 yr old niece for her school but they changed the time of the 1K to earlier and we didn't know. We got there, lined up at the starting line and I realized "oh wait, is this start for the 1K or the 5K?" By the time I figured it out my cute little niece was already on the run.Yeah, not so easy. If I had known I would have stretch and trained for it. But I did finish... eventually. I got to meet my sisters Fiancée Tom Draper and he's way nice. Will was only able to get away from school for the weekend of the wedding so he missed out on Halloween, the race and the wedding drama. My whole family stayed at my sister Cynthia's house. It was kinda crazy but everything came together well in the end. The wedding was beautiful. It was on top of Mount Lemon. Will got to wear his blues (military fancy uniform). The reception was in my sister Cynthia's backyard and it was beautifully decorated. There were chocolate fountains, lights on the tree's, and music to dance to. I'm so happy that my little sister is marrying into a great little family.
November- We had Thanksgiving at my Dad's. I love Turkey Day- okay I just really like food in general. Later that month Will and I traded in his little red truck for a Ford 150. It's nice. It was a shocker for me that we could have something so nice. Will is in Truck heaven. It's just what he wanted.
December- I love Christmas. This year was a little harder to get into the Christmas spirit. I blame work. It was a busy season. Christmas it self was great. I love giving and receiving presents. It's just so fun to surprise people with the perfect gift.
Overall 2010 was a good year.

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." -- Samuel Adams

Happy 4th of July!

It's been a very fun 4th of July weekend!

On Saturday I was in the Centerville parade representing Annie Get Your Gun and the new CenterPoint Theater. It was really fun! Will was a supportive sweetheart and went to the parade to watch and take pictures for me.Then Will, a group from the play and I went to a shindig at Founders Park to watch the other casts Annie and Frank and a group of our guys do a couple of numbers.
After Will and I went and got a rainbow snow, went home had lunch, took a much needed nap and topped the night of by doing the play.

On Sunday we went to church than spend the afternoon just relaxing. Later on I made your typical 4th of July meal. We had cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, ect.. Once it got dark we went outside and did some sparklers and watch the illegal fireworks someone was doing near by.

On Monday we were able to relax a bit. I didn't have work and Will didn't have school so it was a nice break and a good time to get a few things done. We had a great weekend celebrating this Country and our Freedoms and I hope you did as well.

There's no business like show business

There's no business like show business
Like no business I know
Everything about it is appealing
Everything the traffic will allow
No where could you have that happy feeling
When you aren't stealing that extra bow
There's no people like show people
They smile when they are low
Yesterday they told you you would not go far
That night you opened and there you are
Next day on your dressing room they've hung a star

Let's go on with the show

Annie Get Your Gun

The play is in full swing now. The run of the show is half way over so if you haven't gotten your tickets yet you better hurry. I've been told that there almost sold out. It goes till July 17th and I'm in the Tue/Thur/Sat cast. If you mention my name when you call you get a couple of dollars off. I have a great cast and it's a very fun show. The music is fun, the dancing is eye catching, the cast is full of talented actor and best of all you get to see me! I've had a great time doing the show and have made a lot of good friends through this hole precess. Thank You everyone for your support and well wishes.

Auditions, Callbacks And The Wait

So, I love to do plays and musicals but I HATE to audition! It is so scary!!! I had decided awhile ago that I was going to audition for Annie Get Your Gun at Rodgers Memorial Theater. In hopes that it would help, I chose a song over a month before the auditions. I chose Windy City from Calamity Jane. I got the music ordered and they said it would take a week or two for it to come in. Well two weeks came and I hadn't heard from them. I called and they said it was "in transit". "OK" I thought "I can wait a few more days". A week later and still nothing. I go into the store and got someone that would actually help me instead of telling me something to get me to wait longer. She called the vendor and it turned out that they didn't even have any evidence of my order. They priority shipped it to the store but it was a weekend so I had to wait several more days till I got it. At this point it's only about a week and a half from my audition. So much for my being prepared way in advanced. I would have got it online or somewhere else but nowhere local had it and online it was way expensive! I knew that this was the perfect song for the audition for i'm glad I was able to get it. My bishop's sweet wife helped me practice and prepare my song.
I knew I was in trouble a couple of day's before my audition because I was way nervous! I prayed and prayed and prayed that I would be calm enough to do my best. I was still nervous until it was my turn to sing. After the first few words I was able to ditch the nerves and do my best. They asked me to stay around for the dance part of the audition. Then I got nervous again because I have worked with this choreographer and knew she can be intense. Most of the past dance auditions I have had with her have slaughtered me. Well I guess this was the exception because it was pretty easy.
After I went to work because it was Conference weekend and I knew it would be busy. It was! When I went to leave I noticed I had a message. I MADE CALLBACKS! I was so happy! That next Tue I had the Callbacks. It went really well I thought. I learned a section of two different songs. One we sang as a group and the other I sang with another girl. Then the dance callbacks. I lucked out again! We relearned the same dance from the audition. How lucky can I get? I think I did well. They said in a week or so they would let people know if they made it. The time came and then went. I didn't make it : ( or did I.
I got a call a couple weeks later saying that they had had some casting issues and asked if I still would be interest in being in the show. Heck Yes!!! Right now I am practicing for the show. I am in the ensemble of the Tue/Thur/Sat cast. The show runs June 17th-July 17th. If you can come do. It's a fun show... and I'm in it : )
